Configure Signature Fields

Signature fields provide options to upload or capture a signature from the Applicant. Follow these steps to customize the Signature field for the enrollment process.
Note: Uploaded Signature capture file sizes are limited to 3MB.

  1. Select the step that contains the Signature field. By default, the step is called Capture a Signature.
  2. Select the Signature field. The Signature Field Properties pane opens.
  3. Configure the General properties.
    1. Enter a name in the Name field to change the name of the Signature field.
    2. To change where in the field the signature appears, select an alignment from the Alignment field.
    3. To adjust the size of the field, modify the values in the Height and Width fields.
    4. To move the field, modify the values in the Left and Top fields. The value in those fields represents the distance in pixels from the top-left corner of the Enrollment Design to the top-left corner of the field.
    5. To require a value in the field during enrollment, select Mandatory.
    6. To prevent the field from being altered during enrollment, select Read Only.
    7. To hide the field during enrollment, select Hidden. Instant ID as a Service will not show this field during enrollment.
  4. Configure the Operator Prompt properties.
    1. To remove the operator prompt, clear the Display an operator prompt checkbox.
    2. Enter text to identify the field in the Operator Prompt field.
    3. To change the font family, select a font family from the Font Family list.
    4. To change the size of the text, enter a new value in the Font Size field.
    5. To set the text to bold, select Bold Bold Text.
    6. To set the text to italic, select Italic Italicize Text.
    7. To change the color surrounding the text, select a color from the Fill color selector.
    8. To change the color of the text, select a color from the Stroke color selector.
  5. Configure the Capture Options.
    1. Select Enable Capture from File to allow Operators to upload an image of the Applicant's signature.
    2. Select Enable Capture from Device to allow Operators to capture the Applicant's signature using a mouse or touch screen.
  6. Configure the Storage Options:
    1. Select the Storage type to store an image file of the Applicant's signature on either the Database or the local File system. (Database is selected by default.)
    2. Note: Setting the Storage type to File is only available when the enrollment design has been configured to work with an external database. For more information on configuring an external database for use withInstant ID as a Service, refer to Enable and Configure an External Database for Enrollments. For more information on configuring an Enrollment Design to use an external database, refer to Configure Enrollment Design Settings.

    3. If the Storage type is set to File:
      1. Select the desired Field to which the captured image corresponds:
      2. Enter the name of the Folder in which to save the images.
      3. Database entry: Field value, Folder + Field value, or None.
      4. Select the Image format (JPEG format is supported) in which to save the image.
      5. Select the desired file extension according to the selected image format with which to save the image.
  7. Click Save Save Enrollment Design to save or Closeto exit without saving.
