Create a Mobile Flash Pass Design

A Mobile Flash Pass design sets the appearance and functionality of Mobile Flash Passes. Follow these steps to create a Mobile Flash Pass design.

Note: 32-bit CMKY color graphics are not supported. Graphics must be RGB or monochrome.

  1. From the Main Menu Main Menu, select Mobile Flash Pass Designs. The Mobile Flash Pass Designs page opens.
  2. Click Add Add. The Add Mobile Flash Pass Design page opens.
  3. In the General area, type a name, in the Name field, for the Mobile Flash Pass Design. This name identifies the Mobile Flash Pass Design in Instant ID as a Service.
  4. In the Mobile Flash Pass Title field, type a title for the Mobile Flash Pass. This title will display on the Mobile Flash Pass.
  5. From the Barcode Type drop down list, select a barcode format. This sets the format of the barcode that displays on the Mobile Flash Pass.
  6. Note: For information on bar code characters and formatting, refer to Enable and Configure Bar Codes.

  7. Select a color from the color selector in the Background Color area. This color displays as the background color of the Mobile Flash Pass.
  8. In the Default Expiry Date field, click the calendar icon and select a date. This will set the global expiry date for all Mobile Flash Passes.
  9. Upload a logo to display on the Mobile Flash Pass.
    1. Click Add Add. The Upload Logo dialog box opens.
    2. Click Upload Upload. A file browser opens.
    3. Open an image. The Upload Logo dialog box previews the logo.
    4. (Optional) Use the zoom slider to adjust the size logo inside the frame.
    5. Click OK. The Add Mobile Flash Pass page displays the image as it will appear.
    6. Review the image. If it appears incorrect, correct the image or upload a new image.
  10. (Optional) Upload a full-width image to Google Pay Mobile Flash Pass.
    1. Click Add Add next to Google Flash Pass Full-Width Image. The Upload Image dialog box opens.
    2. Click Upload Upload. A file browser opens.
    3. Open an image with a .png, .jpg, or .jpeg file extension. The Upload Image dialog box opens.
    4. (Optional) Adjust the preview image by using the zoom in/out slide bar.
    5. Click OK. The Google Wallet Full-Width Image Preview displays.
  11. (Optional) Upload a strip image to display on the Apple Wallet Mobile Flash Pass
  12. Note: Strip images are currently available exclusively for Apple Mobile Flash Pass, while support for Google Mobile Flash Pass will be available soon.

    1. Upload an image to display on the Mobile Flash Pass.
    2. Click Add Add next to Apple Flash Pass Strip Image. The Upload Image dialog box opens.
    3. Click Upload Upload. A file browser opens.
    4. Open an image with a .png, .jpg, or .jpeg file extension. The Upload Image dialog box opens. Note: The size of the selected image to upload must not exceed 2MB.
    5. Click OK. The Apple Wallet Strip Image Preview window displays.
    6. Review the image. If it appears incorrect, correct the image or upload a new image.

  13. Enter information on the company issuing the Mobile Flash Pass in the Company Information area.
    1. In the Company Name field, type the name of the company or organization issuing the Mobile Flash Pass.
    2. In the Company Address field, type the address of the company or organization.
    3. In the Support Email field, type an email address for the applicant to contact in case of an issue.
    4. In the Support Phone field, type a phone number that the applicant to contact in case of an issue.
    5. In the Website field, type the website address for the company. Use an address where the user can find support information.
    6. In the Legal Information field, type a message that provides instructional information in case of an issue.
  14. Verify the field names for the identifying information of the Mobile Flash Pass in the Field Names area.
    1. The default field names comprise Member Name, Member ID, Role, Since, and Expiry.
    2. (Optional) Click Edit in the bottom-right corner of the Field Names area to modify the field names. The Configure Field Names dialog box appears.
      1. Rename the fields as desired.
      2. Click Done in the bottom-right corner of the dialog box.
      3. Note: Fields mapped to Enrollments will receive the modified names.

      4. Visit the Enrollment Designs page and open the Field Connections sub-page to review the modified field names. For more information, refer to Field Connections.
  15. (Optional) Apply a security watermark to add an watermark image over the applicant photograph. Including a watermark makes it more difficult to counterfeit the Mobile Flash Pass.
    1. Select Apply Security Watermark. Security watermark settings display.
    2. Upload a watermark image. Select an image that is 200 by 200 pixels and has a transparent background.
      1. Click Add Add. The Upload Image dialog box opens.
      2. Click Upload Upload then select an image. The image displays in the preview frame.
      3. Adjust the image by clicking and dragging the image and adjusting the zoom slider.
      4. Click OK.
    1. From the Watermark Position list, select the position of the watermark on the applicant photograph.
    2. From the Watermark Size list, select the size of the watermark. The percent shown represents the width of the watermark in relation to the width of the applicant photograph.
    3. From the Opacity Strength list, select the opacity of the watermark.
    4. Select Overlap Background to extend the watermark on to the background of the Mobile Flash Pass. This makes it more difficult to counterfeit the Mobile Flash Pass.
  16. Click Save.
  17. To test the Mobile Flash Pass Design, click Send Email Email on the Mobile Flash Pass Designs page. Instant ID as a Service sends a test email containing a test version of the Mobile Flash Pass.
