Photograph Field Properties

The Photograph field designates a space on the credential for a photograph of the applicant captured during enrollment. Follow these steps to configure the properties for the Photograph Field.

  1. Enter a name for the field in the Name field.
  2. From the Alignment list, select the alignment of the photograph in the field.
  3. Modify the values in the Width and Height fields to adjust the size of the field on the credential design.Size - Width and Height
  4. Modify the values in the Left and Top fields to adjust the position of the field on the credential design.
  5. Enter a percentage in the Rotation field to rotate the field on the credential design.
  6. Configure the border around the photograph.
    • Select Display Border to enable the border.
    • From the Weight list, set the thickness of the border.
    • From the Color selector, set the color of the border.
  7. In the Advanced area, set the opacity of the Photograph field - Toggle and percent opacity
    1. Select the check box under Ghosting.
    2. Select a percent opacity from the slider.
  8. Select Remove Backdrop to remove the background of the photograph when previewing or printing the credential.
  9. In the Advanced area, set the photo color to Grayscale if the color choice is necessary. This will convert the color photo to grayscale in the preview step and on the printed card.
    1. Select the Grayscale checkbox.

Note: Image files must be JPEG format or file upload.

Note: Printing grayscale images is supported only on ribbons with YMC ribbon panels.

  1. Click SaveSave.

Instant ID as a Service features Storage Options under the Photograph Field Properties in Enrollment Designer.

  • When using the internal database, the image files are always stored as Binary Large Objects (BLOBs).

  • When using an external database, the choice is images stored as BLOBs or images stored as files on a file system.

These options configure file formats and directory links for stored photographs. Follow these steps to configure the properties for Storage Options.

  1. Under the Storage property, select File or Database. The Database option is selected by default. The drop-down is disabled when Use External Database? is unchecked, and enabled when checked

  2. Under the Field property, the drop-down lists all enrollment design field names of the following types:

    • TextComposite

    • Quick Start

    • Primary Key

    These options in the drop-down are disabled if Database is selected in the Storage field, and enabled if File is selected.

  3. Under the Folder field, enter a directory link where photos are stored in the file system or external database. Values entered in this field are disabled when the Storage field is selected as Database, and enabled when selected as File. Refer to Step 4 in Configure Photo Fields to configure the directory mount path for external databases connected to a shared drive.

  4. Under the Database record field, the drop-down lists the following values:

    • Field value

    • Folder + Field value

    • None

    No input value is selected by default. The drop-down is disabled when the Storage field is selected as Database, and enabled when selected as File.

  5. Under the Image format field, the drop-down includes JPEG and PNG image format options.
